Are you trying to decide if it’s a good idea to build your business website on WordPress? We all know the importance of having our business online, especially for independent location business women, like you. Being easy to find and having the opportunity to be in front of hundreds of potential clients at a time is pivotal. However, creating a website is not easy. It requires an investment of time, money and effort, so you want to make sure that you are choosing the right tools from the start.

I’ve had different types of clients with very diverse businesses but they all have one thing in common: Their business websites are built around WordPress. I have designed all of these sites specifically for their industry and their target audience and to showcase their unique vision but they have all been built on the same strong and reliable platform, and I will tell you why.

Here are the 8 reasons why I believe you should be building your business website on WordPress:

1. Simplicity

Since it’s beginning WordPress was created specifically for non or low-tech users. When it started back on 2003 WordPress’ main goal was to be a blogging platform built to help users blog easily and even though the company continues to grow and develop new interfaces and resources their focus is still to improve the user’s experience.

2. Versatility

Yes, WordPress is primarily a blogging platform but you can definitely build your Business Website on it. When it comes to building a website using WordPress, the possibilities are endless. Their platform supports many elements like: multimedia, e-commerce, SEO, and one of the most important ones, integration with many platforms like QuickBooks, payment gateways for WordPress, and a variety of resources that will help you have all of your business’ key elements in one place.

3. Variety of Themes

This is my favorite reason to work with WordPress. The THEMES!! There is an incredible amount of themes that you can choose from (literally hundreds and hundreds of themes) to build your website on. You can check WordPress Marketplace for free themes or visit sites like: StudioPress or Mojo Market Place for Premium WordPress themes. Most themes are responsive, highly customizable and gorgeous! One theme can be applied to many different types of business. It doesn’t matter if you have a restaurant, a real estate agency, a cupcake shop, or if you sell used paper clips, there is a theme for your business.

4. Amazing Plugins that can do anything you can think of

  • Want a slider on your sidebar? No problem! There is a Plugin for that!
  • You also want a customized contact form that it’s connected to your autoresponder? Ok, there is a Plugin.
  • Interactive pop-up sign up form? Plugin!
  • A ticker on the home page with latest news? Plugin!
  • Different Sidebars on every page? No biggie, Plugin!
  • Loan Calculator on-site? PLUGIN!!!

Some of the most amazing plugins are available for WordPress. Not only plugins are capable of adding functionality to your business website but the support behind them is extremely good. Some examples of great must-have Plugins: Yoast SEO, Gravity Forms, Google Analytics.

5. Easy to Upload Content and Maintain

As a business owner, you are busy and cannot spend a lot of your time working on the little things. But at the same time you don’t want to call your webmaster every single time you want to upload a video to your site, or add some new pictures of your product or simply to add a new post to your blog. This is a strong reason why WordPress is the perfect option for business owners. Making little changes to your website is very fast and easy with WordPress and you really don’t need to have web development knowledge to manage your whole website and blog. WordPress even notifies you when there’s an update for your theme or plugins, helping you to always have your web page up to date.

6. Incredible Support

WordPress comes with amazing support to guide you step by step if you encounter any issues. See Here WordPress Support Forums. There is also an incredible community out there of top-notch developers and amazing professionals willing to educate and share their knowledge. If you run into a road block, there’s no need to panic, someone out there has already solved it for you. This makes it very easy to find answers to any question that may come up while using WordPress for your business.

7. Many Talented Professionals

Given that WordPress offers so many possibilities for businesses online, many professionals decide to specialized in developing and designing awesome websites on this platform. This continues the creating of new tools and functions to make your website and ultimately your business more successful. For Example: ME! I really enjoy using WordPress as a base in my projects and always recommend it to my clients.

8. It’s FREE!

Oh I almost forgot the best reason of all WordPress is 100% Free. This powerful platform is completely free to use. The famous saying “You get what you pay for” does not apply here whatsoever. When you choose to build your business website and blog on WordPress, you are, without a doubt, using one (if not the best) tool available. However, please keep in mind that while WordPress is free, hosting is not - (but that’s a whole other article on it’s own). One of my favorite hosting provider for busy online business owners is BlueHost because It’s affordable, reliable, and it’s very easy to set up for busy online business owners.

WordPress is one of the most powerful platforms to build a business website or blog. The possibilities are endless and of very high quality. If you are a busy person, if you pay high attention to details and love to be able to modify things as you go or maybe if you are low-tech but know the importance of having a reliable online presence for your business then I know that WordPress is the best option for you and your biz.
